Another Successful Railway Emergency Response Course
CN has completed another in a series of Railway Emergency Response courses aimed at first responders from Municipal Fire and Police Services.
This two day course was conducted at the Ontario Fire College in Gravenhurst, Ontario.
Firefighters from 11 different fire departments across Ontario and the CN Police Service learned about railway operations, incident command, shipping documents, dangerous goods tank car construction and on-site dangerous goods operations. There was even a table top exercise that challenged the planning capabilities of the participants that may be called to an actual railway dangerous goods incident.
There were also lectures from Norfalco and Chemtrade Logistics on Sulphuric Acid and Sulphur Dioxide that are transported in railway tank cars and highway tank trucks.
The RAC Dangerous Goods team was happy to assist CN in the delivery of this important course.
