Laura McNichol, Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for Watco
Laura McNichol is Watco’s Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer. Laura leads efforts securing funding her company’s railroads and terminals, government relations, sustainability, Indigenous relations as well as stakeholder engagement. Over her tenure at Watco, she has overseen the company’s effort towards permanency for the federal 45G short line maintenance tax credit, development of similar state and provincial tax credits and more than $200 million in project funding for Watco’s railroads.
Laura represents Watco on the Boards of Directors for the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association and the Association of American Railroads. Originally from New Jersey, Laura is graduate of Rutgers University. She lives in Old Town Alexandria in Virginia with her happy Golden Retriever and a sweet Silver Persian.
