Emily Mak, Director, Corporate Affairs and General Counsel, Southern Railway of British Columbia Limited
Since joining the Senior Team in 2017, Emily has been involved in shaping the strategic direction of Southern Railway of British Columbia and its sister companies, Blue Water Rail Services and Southern Railway of Vancouver Island. Emily advises the companies on all commercial, environmental, litigation, and real estate matters. She enjoys navigating the complexities of dual federal-provincial regulatory compliance as a short line railway and also leads the companies’ Health, Safety, and Environment portfolio. Emily’s legal career began as a litigator at a large national law firm and she previously served as an environmental prosecutor.
